Benappi Fine Art are specialist dealers of European old master paintings & sculptures: the showroom is located in Dover Street.

The project consisted in establishing the new gallery on the ground floor of this Grade II listed building part of the Mayfair Conservation Area.

The space was previously used to exhibit contemporary art and had a very modern style.

The classic nature of the sculptures and the scale of the paintings exposed by Benappi required the reinstatement of the original Victorian space.

The project involved the meticulous restoration of cornices, mouldings, and other architectural features, all closely monitored by the local authority to ensure compliance with conservation guidelines.

A new meeting room and bespoke library were designed at the rear of the gallery with a view over a refurbished courtyard. This new space offers a private environment favoured for discussions and consultations.

The office space was redefined with the introduction of new partitions and bespoke joinery.

The integration of new services was a key aspect of the project, ensuring that the gallery met modern operational standards while respecting its historical context.

This project required obtaining Listed Building consent for internal works and new external signage, alongside Planning consent and landlord licence.
